Mantras

  • I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
I feel my fate in what I cannot fear.
I learn by going where I have to go.
    --Theodore Roethke
  • Freedom is what you do with what's been done to you.
    -- Jean-Paul Sartre
  • I'm Nobody! Who are you?
    Are you—Nobody—Too?
Then there's a pair of us!
    Don't tell! they'd advertise—you know!

    How dreary—to be—Somebody!
    How public—like a Frog—
To tell one's name—the livelong June—
    To an admiring Bog!
    --Emily Dickinson

Glad to hear that it's going so well so far! I'll look forward to your continuing adventures -- a new hall for you to be the new kid on.

Oh, and does NLLDH also work a pretty traditional workday? If so, the two of you having the same schedule must also be something of an adjustment.

I am so glad things are going well!!! Can't wait to hear about your attorney adventures. :)

Despite keeping "ordinary" hours, do you find yourself working at home at all? Do you actually have ... free weekends?!

About schedules.. mine is now more traditional than NLLDH's! (He goes in late M & Tu, and works late; he gets Friday and Saturday off, and works on Sunday. Whereas I am traditional 9-5, M-F.)

And sheepish - yes, I have! free! weekends! It is seriously amazing. I LOVE my weekends. I find myself doing more, ironically, because I know if I want to do fun stuff, I have to do it then. It's very relaxing!

Haha, when I started work, I would have all these dreams of rows and rows of numbers in excel running through my head, trying to process all this data. It's also stressful because not only are you learning the technical skills needed for your new job, you're also getting know all the new people, figuring out how things are done, changing when you can go to the supermarket, etc. Glad you're enjoying it!
