Mantras

  • I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
I feel my fate in what I cannot fear.
I learn by going where I have to go.
    --Theodore Roethke
  • Freedom is what you do with what's been done to you.
    -- Jean-Paul Sartre
  • I'm Nobody! Who are you?
    Are you—Nobody—Too?
Then there's a pair of us!
    Don't tell! they'd advertise—you know!

    How dreary—to be—Somebody!
    How public—like a Frog—
To tell one's name—the livelong June—
    To an admiring Bog!
    --Emily Dickinson

Fin is so much more final than "done." In my files on my computer, I have two versions of finished works: "done" when I'm finished and fin when the editor tells me I'm finished.

Congrats! And Zombie PJ time should totally win. You just finished a semester; you deserve at least a day of zombie time.

Whew! I thought maybe you were ceasing to blog. Congratulations on finishing the semester!

Woo hoo! Congrats on finishing the semester successfully!

And a bit of sloth is well-deserved at this time, I would say.
