I'm running for an office for something I'm involved with at school. It's kind of a big deal, in the context of this activity; there are five other candidates.
When I stopped to think about it, I realized that this is the first time I've ever run for anything. In my life. Ever.
I can't decide whether it surprises me that I've never been willing/interested in running for anything before, or it surprises me that I'm willing to do it now.
What I do know is that I have no idea what the results will be. I think I'm very qualified for this position, more qualified than most of the candidates (except possibly one). But then, we've already elected two people for two other positions, and in neither case did the group elect the person I voted for. In fact, in one of those cases the group elected someone I dismissed almost immediately as one of the weakest candidates. So clearly, I have no idea what's going into these votes. If it's just a popularity contest, I probably don't have much of a chance. And even if it's not, who knows?
But if you feel like sending good thoughts my way over the next two days, when the voting is taking place, I would much appreciate it!

Best of luck!

Good luck but even if you don't get it, running as a candidate is good experience.

Luck! You made me realize that I've never run for anything, either.
