So, it appears that I've actually done better about posting here during the week, when I'm swamped with work, than on the weekend, when I actually have some free time.
Which I guess goes to show that the best incentive for blogging is procrastination.
We have all of Thanksgiving week off at my school, which is spectacular, except that it means everyone puts off serious outlining until break, and then we freak out about how behind we are. Okay, that might just be me.
I had a crazy (and unsubtle) dream last night: I dreamed that I was taking a final in my seminar. Which doesn't actually have a final exam. Which meant I was completely unprepared, and freaking out. I wrote something for the first part, turned it in, and left. But somehow after I left I realized there was a multiple-choice section I hadn't touched. So I ran back to the exam room and filled in, like, maybe 5 out of something like 40 questions. And all the while I'm thinking, "But this class doesn't HAVE a final..."
So next I'm talking to my prof and explaining that I didn't notice the multiple choice section. And my prof says, of their own volition, "Why don't you take extra time and finish?"
I don't even remember finished the exam, but the next thing I know, the prof has phoned me up to tell me that when they were adding my exam scores to their spreadsheet, there was a computer glitch, and they'd lost EVERYONE'S SCORES.
That was when I woke up.
I can't wait for finals to be over.

ugh - finals nightmares. I don't know if you remember or not, but I DID THAT in my M.A. comps exam: omitted an entire part of an essay question. ha, and people worry about nudity dreams.

That sounds like what D calls a "modified anxiety dream" -- starts off as a classic anxiety dream, but then it turns out that things aren't so bad after all. She has them all the time (hers usually involve zombies, but then it turns out that she knows exactly how to handle zombies, so it's no big deal) and figures that they're a sign of stress but overall feeling of control.

WN - I should probably explain that my reaction (in the dream) to the prof losing ALL the grades was, "Oh, crap, now my classmates will HATE me!!!" ;-)
shell - I do remember that! but hey, it turned out okay in the end!
