ARGHH
Just wrote long post about Kzoo.
Stupid benighted Detroit airport wi-fi burped, kicked me out (though I paid for 24 hours) and the post is GONE.
Laptop battery is just about dead. Plane is stuck in Chicago. No decent food to be found.
Can I get a do over??

Oh, how annoying! :-( Hope at least all your planes are on time...

Argh! What a pain.
Can I just say, though, that the new blog look is fabulous? It must have been ages since I clicked through from bloglines. The picture is perfect and the look is very clean and spiffy. It makes me want to tinker with my template again...

oh no! I hope you get this comment and that it helps! I am wily in the ways of Old Orchard. Midway down the E or F concourse (they branch off each other- I can never keep them straight) is a really really decent Greek deli that serves (among other things) spanikopita as big as your head. Also, just before B concourse fizzles out in a dip right, there's a Great American Bagel.
So, nu, not great food, but for airports, very very good food. And easy to reach if your flight is on the ground & not going anywhere- you've got the time. Then take said food, then go to the tunnel between B & C concourses & camp out on the floor and eat your food in one of the niches the walls make & bliss out while the walls change colors and the soft music plays.

I realize I was unclear in my anguish... my plane was stuck in Chicago while I was in Detroit! So meg, sadly, I was nowhere near you - and no, my flights were NOWHERE near on time (I was supposed to get home at 8 pm, and was leaving the airport to drive home at 11... and THEN they were doing construction on the highway home which turned it into a parking lot, AND they had closed my exit so I had to take a circuitous route home through industrial-warehouse-middle-of-nowhere where everything I've heard about carjacking kept running through my head.)
(That said, it wasn't like the process was that much of a disaster - it was just sloooooooow!)
Neogrammarian, I wish I'd read that sooner - after I posted I had to put the computer away unless I wanted to find an outlet. I'd forgotten about the tunnel - it would so have improved my mood! Thanks for the effort. :-)
And thanks about the template, T.E. - it's actually brand new, the fruit of sitting in Detroit airport, bored, with wi-fi. :-)

Although I wonder if the header picture is too tall... you guys would tell me if it was, wouldn't you?

I'm no designer, but I don't think the header is too tall. I'm capable of scrolling down! :)
But more to the point of commenting: I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to see you again during the conference! I hope the rest of it was good for you.

Same here, Dr. V! (I did "see" you waiting for a table at Saffron on Friday night... a friend of mine from grad school and I had got there early enough to be seated right away and the wait looked atrocious!) Hope that your paper went well!

The header looks perfect here on my mom's 14in ibook. I can see the header plus the start of the first entry before I scroll down, which is just about perfect, and aesthetically I think the proportions are nice. (I need to fix mine but haven't been able to conceptualize the fix.)

lol, no, my mistake NK! I thought you were in Chicago too (ORD = Old Orchard), so my suggestions wouldn't've helped in Detroit.
Glad you got home at last.

Count me as another vote for the new template: it's great!
And it was fabulous to meet you. And to have you come to my paper. Thank you.
