I'm Nobody! Who are you?
Are you—Nobody—Too?
Then there's a pair of us!
Don't tell! they'd advertise—you know!
How dreary—to be—Somebody!
How public—like a Frog—
To tell one's name—the livelong June—
To an admiring Bog!
--Emily Dickinson
I am a recovering academic - a medieval historian who, after various adventures on the tenure track (at Rural Utopia and Small Urban), decided to leave academia. I graduated from law school in May 2011, took the bar, and moved to one clerkship hallway in September 2011 (in Beloved City). In August 2012, I moved for another clerkship (to Elsewhere). Perforce I will find myself in another new hallway by September 2013, too, but it remains as yet unidentified.
I'm married to LDH, Long-Distance Husband (formerly No-Longer-Long-Distance Husband, before that LDH again], and we are owned by two cats (currently in Beloved City). One is elderly and crotchety, Middle Cat (there used to be an Eldest Cat and a Youngest Cat, but they are sadly no longer with us), who suffers from a myriad of chronic ailments but still seems pretty content. The other cat is much younger, and blind (ergo Blind Kitty). We kinda like lame ducks around here.
